Surah Al-Ahqaf
The Sandhills
15. We have commanded
man to be good to his
parents: his mother
struggled to carry him and
struggled to give birth to
him - his bearing and
weaning took a full thirty
months. When he has
grown to manhood and
reached the age of forty he
[may] say, ‘Lord, help me
to be truly grateful for Your
favours to me and to my
parents; help me to do good
work that pleases You;
make my offspring good.
I turn to You; I am one of
those who devote
themselves to You.’
16. We accept from such
people the best of what they
do and We overlook their

2. Those who pray humbly,
3. who shun idle talk,
4. who pay the prescribed alms,
5. who guard their chastity
6. except with their spouses or their

30. So, the angels - all of them -

who refused to prostrate
with the others.
32. Allah asked, “O Iblis!
What is the matter with you
that you did not join

33. He replied,
“It is not for me to
prostrate to a human
You created from

34. Allah commanded,
“Then get out of Paradise,
for you are truly cursed.
35. And surely upon you

36. Satan appealed, “My Lord!
Then delay my end until

39. Satan responded, “My Lord!

The Heights
19. And “O Adam,
dwell, you and your wife,
in Paradise and eat from wherever
you will but do not approach this tree,
lest you be among the wrongdoers.”
20. But Satan whispered to them
to make apparent to them that
which was concealed from them
of their private parts.
He said, “Your Lord did not
forbid you this tree except
that you become angels or
become of the immortal.”
21. And he swore
[by Allah] to them,
“Indeed, I am to
you from among
the sincere advisors.”
22. So he made them fall,
through deception.
And when they tasted
from the tree,
their private parts
became apparent to them,
and they began to fasten
together over themselves
from the leaves of Paradise.
And their Lord called to them,
“Did I not forbid you
from that tree
and tell you that Satan
is to you a clear enemy?”
23. They said, “Our Lord,
we have wronged ourselves,
and if You do not forgive us
and have mercy upon us,
we will surely be
among the losers.”
24. [Allah] said,
“Descend, being to
one another enemies.

Rüfüs Du Sol
I see you standing at the front of the line
Waiting for something I can't make out
But I wanna talk to you, to pull you aside
I wanna ask you to come with me tonight
I wanna stay by your side
While we untangle
The world around us on fire
I'm hearing sirens
Calling me closer to you
There's no place I'd rather be
I feel myself with you
There's no place I'd rather be
I feel myself with you
You run your fingers through the palm of my hand
Pulling me closer, drawn by your command
It's like I've seen you, like I've known you before
An intuition that this is where I belong
Standing with you in my arms
Staring up into the heavens
In this hell that binds your hands
Will you sacrifice your comfort
Make your way in a foreign land
Wrestle with your darkness
Angels call your name
Can you hear what they are saying
Will you ever be the same
Imminilalo Imminilalo
Imminilalo Imminilalo
Remember, remember
Never forget
All of your life has all been a test
You will find the gate that's open
Even though your spirit's broken
Open up my heart
'Cause my lips to speak
Bring the heavens and the stars
Down to earth for me
Imminilalo Imminilalo
Imminilalo Imminilalo
Imminilalo Imminilalo
Imminilalo Imminilalo
Wrestle with your darkness
